Although the Halo trilogy is known as being for one console and one console only, Bungie Studio’s and Microsoft have released Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 for gamers home PC’s. Gamers however are still waiting patiently to hear the official release of Halo 3 for their home PC’s, they are very optimistic that it will be released, eventually. Due to the large success of Halo, other consoles have tried their best to aspire a first-person shooter to become what Halo for Xbox has achieved.
Halo 3 for Xbox is considered a scientific first-person shooter game. The gamer plays as the main character that goes by the name of Master Chief. The gamer plays with an AI companion who goes by the name of Cortana and through Cortana the gamer learns a lot of background information.
Some of the best aspects of the Halo games are obviously the single player campaign. The gamer can fight through the game on his or her own, or they have the option for a Cooperative play as well. The gamer and a friend can team up together to play through the game as well.
When Halo: Combat Evolved was released, it did not have the ability for online play, unlike Halo 2 and Halo 3 for Xbox. With this new added feature, gamers all over the world can play together and against each other. It was estimated that after Halo 2 was released to the gaming world, 91 million combined hours were recorded of online play.
Halo 3 for Xbox has been a large success for both Bungie Studios and Microsoft. Gamers however are left wondering if the trilogy will be a trilogy at all. After all there have been rumblings that Bungie is in works with Peter Jackson regarding another Halo game. The official Halo website has not reported any updated official news regarding this information; however the hints have been left to gamers that something is happening.
