In the first Halo game, your primary weapon is the battle rifle, but you’re also equipped with a pistol. As you proceed through the game, there are still a wide variety of weapons that you can pick up. There’s the Plasma rifle, Plasma pistol, rocket launcher. There are also grenades available to you , such as the frag grenade and the plasma grenade. This is just a short list of available weapons. Things however did begin to change in Halo 2.
Halo 2 brought in the dual wielding weapons for this franchise and the dual wielding weapon of choice was the SMG. Again all of the weapons from the original Halo were enlisted in this game. In Halo 2 there were only certain weapons that you were able to use as dual weapons.
You could carry the dual SMGs or you could change it up with an SMG and a Plasma Rifle or an SMG and a Brute Plasma rifle, dual pistols, a Plasma pistol and a Magnum, Dual Needlers, Plasma rifle and a magnum ,or an SMG and a magnum. And now there are new Halo 3 weapons, so let’s take a look at just a few of these weapons.
Again the Assault rifle is back, like it was in the first two games. However developers made some modifications with it to allow for greater accuracy, more range and more damage per hit. Developers also added some new weapons to Halo 3, like the Fuel Rod Gun. It’s a covenant weapon to counter the rocket launcher but before it came in game play for Halo 3, it was used only for multiplayer for the PC version of Halo.
With the machine gun turret, you no longer get sniped from a distance. Pick it up and walk around as you kill your enemies. The Missile Pod is another new weapon. Like weapons of this caliber it causes your character to slow down and forces you out of the first person shooter perspective and into a third person shooter. Then you have the Spartan Laser, which is used as an anti-vehicle weapon. Whatever this thing hits, it totally destroys.
With each game that comes out, the developers of Halo are always trying to make things new and exciting and that’s including the new Halo 3 Weapons.
